Lay’s has selected Carnitas Street Tacos as one of five Flavor Icons from restaurants across the country that inspire its latest potato chip recipes. The others are: Kettle Cooked New York Style Pizza (Grimaldi’s in New York City) Chile Relleno (Cocina Azul in Albuquerque, N.M.) Philly Cheesesteak, (Geno’s Steaks in Philadelphia) and Nashville Hot Chicken (Party Fowl in Nashville, Tenn.).
The limited time only flavors will be sold until supplies run out.
In its recent announcement, Lay’s said it would also “return the flavor” and acknowledge the economic impact of COVID-19 on the restaurant industry.” A $25,000 Gratitude Fund will go to each of the Flavor Icons restaurants “to put towards the various relief efforts that will help them recover from the impact of the pandemic.”
